Bayswater Beach

St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia

Bayswater Beach is a long sandy beach found along route 329 on the Western shore of St. Margaret’s Bay, Nova Scotia.

Several appealing features of the beach park include calm, warm waters, a freshwater pond which feeds into the beach, a picnic area, outdoor barbecue pits, change rooms and toilets, and of course the beautiful South Shore scenery. There is a freshwater stream that runs across the beach where many small children enjoy playing in the warmer water.

Bayswater Beach is a particularly safe beach to swim. There are no rips or currents, and generally no surf. On occasion, however, Bayswater can experience "dumping" waves close to shore as a result of the slope of the beach. It's a fantastic "family day" spot to hit on our warm summer days. Beach conditions are recorded daily by lifeguard staff and can be accessed by calling the Beach Line.

Details & water conditions of Bayswater Beach can be found at during July & August

BaysWater Picnic Park is found right accross the road from Bayswater beach & is set between  two lakes with picnic tables & barbeque pits making this a great spot for family picnics.

Further along from the beach and picnic park is one of the two memorial sites for the Swissair 111 disaster of 1998.

This memorial at Bayswater has the names of all those who perished
